Where Fashion, Art, and Technology Meet
Fashion has always been a form of expression. Through unique designs, materials, and creative identities, clothing allows people to communicate something about themselves.
But what happens when a garment becomes more than something you wear?
Anomaly by Artifex explores this question through a collection of limited-edition wearable art, combining distinctive fashion pieces with a vision that connects physical products and digital experiences.
At AELIG, we contributed to this vision by integrating Near Field Communication (NFC) technology into garments, creating a connection between each physical piece and its digital identity.
This integration introduces a new dimension to wearable art, supporting product authenticity and opening opportunities for interactive collectible experiences.

The Challenge: Giving Unique Garments a Digital Identity
Anomaly by Artifex approaches clothing as a creative medium, producing distinctive pieces that combine artistic expression with fashion.
Its collections include jackets, hoodies, and T-shirts, alongside collectible accessories such as the brand's Sentinel Pins.
Each creation reflects an emphasis on individuality, design, and the relationship between the artist and the person wearing the garment.
For brands creating limited-edition and collectible products, however, maintaining a clear connection between a physical item and its identity presents an interesting technological challenge.
How can someone interact with a garment digitally? How can a physical product be connected to information that supports its authenticity? And how can technology create additional value without interfering with the artistic vision?
The objective was to introduce a digital layer that complemented the garments rather than changing their physical appearance or creative identity.
Our Solution: NFC-Enabled Wearable Art
We integrated NFC-based technology into Anomaly by Artifex garments, connecting physical clothing with digital records.
NFC is a short-range wireless communication technology that allows compatible devices, such as smartphones, to exchange information when brought close together.
By incorporating NFC tags into clothing, each participating garment can become an entry point to a digital experience.
Connecting Physical Products with Digital Records
The core of our contribution was establishing a link between an NFC tag embedded in a garment and its associated digital identity.
When a compatible smartphone interacts with the tag, the garment can direct the user to its corresponding digital information.
This creates a connection between the physical product and a digital record, making it possible to associate information with the item beyond what can be displayed on a traditional clothing label.
Supporting Product Authenticity
Authenticity is especially important for products designed around originality, exclusivity, and artistic identity.
The NFC integration supports an additional way of identifying garments by connecting them with their corresponding digital records.
Rather than relying exclusively on visible labels or printed information, the technology introduces a digital touchpoint that can support authenticity checks.
This approach is particularly relevant to collectible fashion, where the relationship between a physical item and its origin contributes to the product's identity.
Creating Connected Collectible Experiences
NFC technology is not limited to product identification.
Connecting physical objects with digital experiences creates opportunities to extend the relationship between a brand and its customers beyond the moment of purchase.
For Anomaly by Artifex, this aligns naturally with the concept of wearable art.
A garment can become more than a standalone physical product: it can also serve as a gateway to digital information and connected collectible experiences.
By introducing this capability, the integration provides a technological foundation for exploring new interactions between fashion, ownership, and digital content.
Technology That Respects Artistic Expression
One of the most interesting aspects of the project was the relationship between technology and creativity.
Anomaly by Artifex is built around artistic individuality. Its garments are designed to stand out through their visual identity, materials, and creative direction.
Our role was not to redefine that identity, but to support it with technology.
The NFC integration needed to function as an additional layer of the product experience, allowing the physical garment to remain the central element while introducing digital capabilities.
This reflects an important principle of our development approach: technology should serve the product and its purpose, not become an unnecessary complication.
Exploring the Potential of Phygital Fashion
The term phygital describes experiences that connect the physical and digital worlds.
In fashion, this can mean integrating digital identities, interactive features, or online experiences directly into physical products.
Anomaly by Artifex represents an example of how these concepts can be applied to independent creative brands.
By connecting garments with digital records, NFC technology supports several possibilities:
- Digital identity: Connecting a physical garment with associated digital information.
- Authenticity: Providing a technological foundation for product authenticity checks.
- Interaction: Allowing customers to access digital experiences through a simple smartphone interaction.
- Collectibility: Supporting new ways of connecting unique physical pieces with digital records.
- Future experiences: Establishing a foundation for additional connected features as the brand evolves.
The result is a practical application of technology that complements the artistic nature of the products.
The Outcome: Making Physical Fashion Digitally Connected
Through our collaboration with Anomaly by Artifex, we helped introduce NFC technology into a collection of wearable art.
The integration establishes a connection between physical garments and digital identities, supporting authenticity-related functionality and connected collectible experiences.
The project demonstrates how relatively unobtrusive technologies can extend the capabilities of physical products without compromising their original purpose.
For Anomaly by Artifex, the solution introduces a digital dimension to its creative vision.
For AELIG, the project highlights our ability to integrate specialized technologies into products outside traditional software environments, bridging physical objects and digital systems.
Looking Ahead
As physical products become increasingly connected, the relationship between objects and digital experiences continues to evolve.
Technologies such as NFC provide opportunities for brands to introduce new forms of interaction, identity, and traceability into everyday products.
Anomaly by Artifex shows how this potential can extend into fashion and artistic expression, connecting creative individuality with practical technological capabilities.
At AELIG, we develop solutions that bring technology into real-world products and experiences. Our collaboration with Anomaly by Artifex reflects this approach: understanding the creative vision, identifying the right technology, and building integrations that add meaningful capabilities.
